Barbara Cassady Lawson

Barbara Cassady Lawson, 56, a resident of Gulfport, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 in Gulfport. She was born in Gulfport and was a resident for most of her life. She graduated from Gulfport East High School and earned a masters degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was an English instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Jeff Davis Campus. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Gulfport and the Biloxi Yacht Club. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Jean Lawson; and her parents, E. Patrick and Mary Ann Dever Cassady. Barbara is survived by a son, Matthew Wayne Lawson of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, J. Michael Cassady and sister-in-law Sue Cassady of Gulfport; and a niece Sally Cassady Lyon and her husband, Dalton of Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
