Barbara Evelyn Teele

Barbara Evelyn Teele, 90, of Gautier, MS died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Ms Teele was one of the oldest members of First Baptist in Jasper, AL where she was very involved until her illness. She was a dedicated career woman where she worked until she was 72. Ms Teele was retired from Sears after 28 years of service. She also managed offices for several other business entities. Ms Teele was strong family rock and mentor. She graduated from Jefferson Co. High School and attended Athens Girls College and she continued her education at the Walker County College. She also was a substitute teacher for many schools in Jasper. Ms Teele is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel G., Sr. and Sarah Teele; sisters, Louise Hall, Freddie Brignett and Alice Overton. She is survived by her brothers, Samuel G. Teele and wife, Sara of Jacksonville, FL and Glenn V. Teele and wife, Margie of Gautier, MS and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, AL. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Gray Memorial, Parrish, AL. For the past 2 ½ years, Ms Teele was living in a private care home. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Bobby and Deryl, Gloria and Barbara for the loving care while she was there. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS is in charge of arrangements.
