Barbara T. Grissom

Barbara T. Grissom, age 77, of Gulfport, MS died Saturday, November 2, 2013, in Gulfport. She served as an officer on the Pineville Elementary School PTA and enjoyed going to Krewe of Gemini functions. Mrs. Grissom loved family time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother to her six daughters and loved being pampered and getting dressed up. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eunice Tharnish, sisters, Annette Olivi, Alberta Tharnish, Margarite Tharnish, Arbelle Boston, brothers, Michael Tharnish and Arthur J. Tharnish Jr, grandchild, Clyde Kenneth Study III and great-grandchild, Braydon Study. Survivors include six daughters, Debra (Kenny) Study of Gulfport, MS, Kaye (Richard) Adams of Woodstock, GA, Mary Robinson and Phyllis Acevedo, both of Gulfport, MS, Cheryl Ashley of D'Iberville, MS and Carol (Robert) Peer of Biloxi, MS, two sisters, Peggy Vanlandingham and Dorothy Youngblood, a brother, Thomas Tharnish, seven grandchildren, Brandy, Rich, Brandon, David, Bridget, Rachel and Corey and six great-grandchildren, Kendall, Bryce, Kaylan, Grayson, Jaxson and Nickolas. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from 10:30 am ~ 12 noon, with a 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Conn Cemetery. Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, is in charge of arrangements.
