Barbara Battaya Lamey Montgomery

Mrs. Barbara Battaya Lamey Montgomery, age 80, of Latimer, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015. Barbara was a lifelong resident of the coast. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Pokeno, going to Boomtown Casino and caring and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Cleve Lamey, Sr.; parents, Lucille and Joseph Battaya; son, Sherman Bourgeois; and three brothers, Alfred Battaya, Nello Battaya and Elvin Battaya. Survivors include a daughter, Lona Fay (Wayne) Garlotte; three sons, Reginal (Mary) Lamey, Cleve "Chevie" (Martha) Lamey and Augustus "Gussie" (Debbie) Lamey; sister, Daisy Beirell; grandchildren, Angel Bourgeois, Charmine Bourgeois, Sheena Bourgeois, Brittany (Jesse) Morace, Sabrina (Jason) Ely, Clint Lamey, Gus Lamey, and Scott (Ashley) Campbell and four great-grandchildren, Ellie, Kylie, Emma and Tate. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a 10:00 a.m. chapel service on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Swetman Cemetery in D’Iberville.
