Barry Charles Mendoza

Barry Charles Mendoza, 61, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA on January 31, 1962 to George and Gadis Mendoza.

Barry has been a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1970. He attended Ocean Springs High School. Following high school Barry worked several jobs as he was talented in all areas. He worked for Ingalls Shipyard for a number of years. He also served in the United States Army and worked as a manager at Performance Contractors. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family. Barry was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Barry is preceded in death by his parents, George and Gadis Mendoza; and grandparents, Clarence and Gladys Roussel.

Survivors include his wife, Sonya Mendoza; daughters, Jamye (Josh) Orillion and Amanda Mendoza; grandchildren, Christine Patin, Kaylyn Perera, and Jacob Perera; nieces, Georgia Bergeron and Hillary Mendoza; nephews, Mark Hollis and Anthony DeLoreto; sisters, Sheri Strickland and Terri (Jeffrey) Harris; cousins, Kirk, Kandi and Kim; and great-nieces, Rebekah, Riley, Raegan, Harper, Kensie, and Talyah.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior.
