Basil Lee Kittell, Sr., 63, of Ocean Springs, MS died on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Basil was known as a "giver" with a good heart. As the owner/operator of Bandit Light Company, and a member of Professional Kennel Club, he could always be counted on to sponsor the youth programs, St. Jude and Shriners benefit hunts. Basil enjoyed coon hunting and going to the stock yard. Friends could count on him for a "spirited" conversation. He said what he believed, and did what he said. Basil enjoyed life. He has gone to heaven and we will see our friend again. Basil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. He will be watching over us from heaven. He was always there ready to help through good times and bad. He always stood up for what he believed in and he always believed in family and friends.
Basil is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Angleat Lamey McQueen.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Kittell; daughter, Malinda Plaisance; son, Basil Lee Kittell, Jr.; sisters, Loretta (Cecil) Diaz, Donna (Raymond Yoshikawa) Kittell-Slack; grandchildren, Kristopher Kyle Kittell, Brandon Michael Levine, Phillip John Levine, III and Miranda Nicole Plaisance.
Funeral services are Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
