Mary Beatrice Fountain Delahoussaye Hubbard, 91, of Biloxi, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, in Biloxi after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. Beatrice was born on September 17, 1920, and was a lifelong resident of North Biloxi. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, and she looked forward to spending Christmas Eve with her entire family at her home that was decorated for the holiday year-round. She loved Christmas shopping for every single person in her family. She would lovingly choose every gift, wrap all of them, and watch happily as everyone ripped into the presents. Beatrice loved to dance, even when her body did not want her to. She danced at her 90th birthday party with her sister. She also enjoyed vacationing with her family in Gulf Shores, Flint Creek, Paul B Johnson, Natchez and Disney World; especially the Small World ride. Her favorite past-time later in life was watching “Walker, Texas Ranger.” She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lorinza Cannette Fountain; her sister, Bernice Fountain; her husband, Herbert H. Hubbard; her former husband, Ellis Delahoussaye; her son, James Vernon Delahoussaye; her daughter Claudette Delahoussaye Derouen Parker; her grandsons, Larry H. Derouen, Baby Derouen and Baby Parker. Beatrice is survived by her sister, Selma Fountain Smith of New Orleans; her daughters, Selma (Peanut) Simmons and her husband Bobby; her son Jack Delahaussaye and his wife Catherine; and her son Jerry Delahoussaye and his wife Dora, all of Biloxi. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Wayne Fountain (Patty), Caren Ann Ponson (HJ), Letha Leleaux, Pete Smith, Lenny Smith (Melanie) and Donna Toups. Maw Maw Bea was blessed with numerous grandchildren: Lenny Derouen, Lee Parker and his wife Sylina, Gene Parker, Tammy Delahaussaye Murry and her husband Mack, Bobby Simmons Jr. and his wife Leonie, Lori Simmons Brennan and her husband Jim, Shelley Simmons McKay and her husband Gene, Dawn Delahoussaye Cormier and her husband Chris, Jerry (Fuji) Delahoussaye Jr. and his wife Renee, Be-Be Fountain and Forrest Fountain and his wife Miranda. Beatrice’s great-grandchildren are Brandy King Murry and her husband Judd, Magyn and Morgyn Murry; Courtney Parker, Amanda Parker Oaks and her husband Brandon, Jessica Parker; Bobby Simmons III and Hilliary Simmons; Larry and Luke Derouen; Trey, Kaylin, Abigail and Maggie Brennan; Grayson and Johnathan McKay; CJ and Chailey Cormier; Taylor, Josie, and Breanna Delahoussaye, Robert Lamey, Destin Fountain, Mackenzie and Meggan Fountain. Beatrice was also blessed with four great-great grandchildren: Colton and Carleigh Murry, Alyssa Oaks, and Gunner Derouen. Pall bearers are Lee Parker, Bobby Simmons, Jr., Fuji Delahoussaye, Larry Derouen, Bobby Simmons, III, Luke Derouen, and Trey Brennan. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Recitation of Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, in Biloxi, at 11:00 a.m. where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time. The family extends its deepest appreciation to Dr. Regina Mills and her staff, Dr. Lydia LaTour and all of the staff of Biloxi Regional’s ICU unit for their care and support.
