Annie Beatrice Giles Gardner, age 78 of Biloxi passed away March 26 at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Bea was a native of Brooklyn, MS. She had been a Biloxi resident for over 60 years.
She had been a co-owner of Barney's Drive Inn and the Ship-n-Shore Restaurant in Biloxi back in the '50s and '60s. She was employed at Austin's Style Center in Biloxi for over 20 years. She enjoyed the friendship of the many customers and friends she developed over the years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Barney M. Giles, Sr. a son, Barney M. Giles, Jr., a grandson, Joseph McKinley Giles, her parents, Thomas and Carrie Bell Spinks, two sisters, Margie Merry and Tommie Nadeau, and one brother, Forrest Spinks, Sr.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Linda Giles Freeman and husband Darrel, of Jackson, and Sandra Giles Comstock of Biloxi, a beloved son, Thomas Wayne Giles, Sr. and wife Pam of Biloxi, three devoted grandchildren, Kelly Comstock Williams and husband Adam, Jeffrey Fedele Comstock, and Thomas Wayne Giles, Jr., two great-grandchildren, Emily Scott Williams and Hope Elizabeth Gentile Comstock, two sisters, Viola Doyle and Louise Bittinger, both of Biloxi.
Ms. Bea has many more loved ones who join in remembering her and mourning her loss. All of us will continue to cherish her memory and carry forever the love she shared. She was a very special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend.
The family would like to thank the staff at Biloxi Regional Medical Center and the staff at Riverchase Village for taking loving care of our mother.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, from 12:30 until 2:30 with the service at 2:30, all held at the Howard Ave. Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi, MS. Burial will be at Southern Memorial Park.
