Bennett Miller

Bennett Miller, age 90, of Ocean Springs, began her eternal reward on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Bennett was born to John and Caroline Prince on August 14, 1926 in Shuqualak, Mississippi. She earned a Bachelors in Nursing from East Tennessee State College in 1955. Her professional life included many years as Head Nurse and then as Nursery Supervisor at the Pediatrics Department of Touro Infirmary, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She then worked at the Diaz-Simon Pediatric Clinic in New Orleans. Bennett married August J. Miller on September 12, 1964. Together, they had two children, Daisy Flowers who is married to Larry Flowers and John Miller married to Mary Miller. Together, they provided love and support for August Miller's three sons from his previous marriage, Jeff, Scott, and Raymond Miller. This extended family gave Bennett the great opportunity to influence and love three wonderful daughters-in-law: Caren, Gayle, and Linda; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bennett is preceded in death by her husband, August J. Miller; and two step-sons, Jeff Miller, Jr. and Scott Miller, Sr. Bennett's survivors include her two children, Daisy (Larry) Flowers and John (Mary) Miller; her step-son, Raymond (Linda) Miller; her two brothers, John "Buddy" (Pat) Prince and Jeff (Bitty) Prince; and her two sisters, Jane Prince and Ray Davis; her grandchildren, Kyle Flowers, Keith Miller, Josie Flowers, and Kathryn Miller; her step-grandchildren, Michelle O'Brien, Caren Bermudez, Jeff Miller III, Kevin Miller, Derek Miller, Scott Miller, Jr., Kelly Miller, Calvin Miller. Visitation will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., with a 12:30 p.m. service. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
