Bermond J. "Tiger" Meaut, Jr., U.S. Army Retired, 67, of Biloxi died July 18, 2009 at 11:30 p.m. at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.
Tiger was born in Biloxi, MS on November 5, 1942 to Bermond J. Meaut, Sr. of Biloxi and the late Mary Ellen Mon Meaut of Biloxi. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
During his childhood and teens, Tiger traveled to many U.S. Army installations, both in the United States and abroad, with his mother and father. Ultimately, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and had a long military career. After his retirement he returned to Biloxi. His last employment was with Swetman Security Service with his principal place of assignment being Biloxi Regional Medical Center and in particular the Hospital's Medical Building. He was a valued employee, well liked and respected by all personnel connected with the Medical Center.
Tiger was a member of Biloxi Benevolent Order of Elks, Lodge 606, he cherished the friendship and camaraderie of his fraternal brothers and sisters.
In addition to his mother, Mary Ellen Meaut, "Tiger" was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wayne Meaut; son, Joseph Andrew Meaut; paternal and maternal grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Bermond J. Meaut, Jr. is survived by his wife, DeAnne L. Meaut; stepdaughters, Cindy Teets, Cheryl Flanagan; father, Bermond J. Meaut, Sr. of Biloxi; son, Michael Lawrence Meaut; grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Meaut, Joseph Andrew Meaut, Jr., Michael Meaut, Mary Ellen Meaut, Griffin Teets and Alexander Teets; aunt, Emily Meaut Demourelle; sister-in-law, Sandra Ashley Meaut; nephew, Marc Meaut; niece, Laura Ashley Meaut; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Tiger's family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Biloxi Regional Medical Center for their friendship to him. We express a special thank you to Dr. Eva Magiros, Dr. Robert Brunston and the nurses in the surgery, surgery recovery and Critical Care areas.
Service will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi, MS where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
