Bert August "B.J." Tremmel, Jr.

Burt August "B.J." Tremmel, Jr., 34 years of age, died on August 4, 2009 in Biloxi. Burt was a life long resident of Biloxi, MS and a graduate of Biloxi High School where he was a member of the football team and numerous organizations. He was also a graduate of Jefferson Davis Community College with a degree in drafting and design. After graduation, he was an engineering draftsman for Avondale Ship Building and later worked in the engineering department for the City of Biloxi. Since 2003, he was the owner and president of Tremmel Construction Specialties. Burt was a 4th generation master craftsman and enjoyed the prospect of continuing the Tremmel business through his partnership with his father and someday that of his son, Augie. He was a member of the Krewe of Neptune for 15 years and held the position of line lieutenant. He was also a member of Les Pierrott Carnival Association and participated with a number of other groups during one of his favorite seasons, Mardi Gras. Burt was a member of NOMMA, a National Ornamental Metals Association and The Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Nativity BVM Parish, Biloxi, MS. Burt's greatest love was to teach and enjoy his son, Augie, on boating outings and many other activities. He was a wonderful role model for his son, a loving husband and a devoted son and true friend to many. Burt was there for them all and he will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Tremmel, Sr., his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Turner, step-father, Norman "Chin" Creel and mother-in-law, Sydney Tucei. Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Renee Tucei Tremmel, son, August Robert "Augie" Tremmel, mother, Mary Creel (Elbert) Trone, father, Burt (Ira Fay) Tremmel, Sr., sister, Christye McVey and her sons, Tyler and Dylan, step-sister, Jean Cosper, step-brothers, Shannon (Dawn), Matt (Becca) and Andy Cosper, father-in-law, Bob (Joy) Tucei, sisters-in-law, Shannon (William) Abraham, Merideth (Gregg) Descher and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 7, 2009, 12:00 noon at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church, Biloxi, MS where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Interment is in Southern Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to: Nativity B.V.M. Elementary School Endowment Fund, (in memory of Burt A.
