Bertha Taylor Erhard went peacefully to our Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2005 while at Hospice House in Tampa, Florida. She had been living with her daughter, Susie since Katrina. She had survived Katrina and the loss of her family home but could not survive acute leukemia which took her to the loving arms of her husband, Val, within a week of her diagnosis. She is survived by her son, Bobby Erhard and her daughters, Elsie Erhard Tierce and Susie Erhard Towater and son-in-law, Charles, her adored brothers, Robert and T.C. Taylor and devoted grandchildren, Michelle Carroll Pannell, Ricky Carroll and Christian Christovich, great grand children, Joey and Jessica Carroll, and Cassidy and Jeblan Meadows, nieces, Janet, Dawn, Betty, Cynthia, Norma, Carol and Debbie, Fran and Nan, nephews, Johnny Erhard and Rick Foley, as well as beloved sister-in-laws Pat Taylor, Emily Turan, Rea Erhard and Hazel Erhard. She was born January 14, 1922 in Bond, MS. She lived most of her adult life in Mississippi City. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. James Catholic Church where she was married to Valentine Joseph Erhard on January 25, 1946. They were married for 57 years. Her husband, Val ("Skeet") Erhard predeceased her two and a half years ago. Special thanks go to D.J. and Terry Zeigler who were like sons to her and the entire Zeigler, Jermyn, and Lindsey-Dunn families for their lifetime of friendship and love. Also thanks to Charlie Angel and his daughter, Amy as well as, Rose George, her special "sunshine," amd the staff of the Loyalton of Biloxi who all gave her a wonderful nine months before Katrina. And, a very special thanks to her forever daughter-in-law, Martha Huie of New Orleans. She was predeceased by her parents, Mac and Flossie Taylor originally from Bond, MS. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. A scripture service will be held at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. James Catholic Church, where friends may visit one hour before the mass. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery.
