Mrs. Bertha Lepre, 78, formerly of 7141 Mandarin Drive in N. Biloxi, was a Biloxi native who had lived in N. Biloxi since 1970 upon the retirement from the Air Force of her now deceased husband, Roy Lepre, also a Biloxi native. Surrounded by her family, anointed by her priest, Mrs. Lepre passed away the evening of September 18, 2008 in McDonough, GA, her home for the past three years. Mrs. Lepre lived a life of dedicated service. She cared for her husband during his lengthy illness and following his death in 1996, she spent most of the next decade serving her community and church as a member of the Keesler AFB Hospital Auxiliary, the Legion of Mary and as a coordinator/volunteer for Sacred Heart Church Bereavement ministry. Her friends and family will miss her determined spirit. Mrs. Lepre was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lepre, parents, Evelyn Barras Hollier and Lucien Hollier, and her sister, Margaret Hollier Delahousey. Mrs. Lepre is survived by her sister, Florence Bellais of Biloxi; two daughters, Sheila Burger of Houston, TX and Rhoda Pollard of McDonough, GA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons, Jessica Burger, Justin Burger, both of Houston, Sarah Qualls and sons Steven and Thomas of Covington, GA; Michael Pollard, Jr., Mary Claire Pollard both of Atlanta, John Pollard of Hampton, GA, and Catherine Pollard Arias and son Leon Lepre Arias of Takoma Park, Maryland. Her nieces and nephews include her Godchild, Sonya Kifer, Georgia Lee Dominick, Mike Delahousey, Steve Delahousey, Anita Boney, Eves Vincent III, Melvin Vincent, Marilyn Glaskox, and Mary Ella Corley. Please join us for Mass on Friday, September 26, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in N. Biloxi at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. A committal service with family members will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery where Mrs. Lepre will be interred at 12:30 p.m. next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30315 or to your local Salvation Army Chapter for relief of disaster victims. Special thanks to the Crematory of the South in Stockbridge, GA and Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi, MS for their care and assistance.
