Beryl Louise Fountain Davis, a youth of 86 years, passed away February 5th 2021 into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Davis was born September 30, 1934. She was a life-long resident of the Fontainebleau Community, Ocean Springs Mississippi.
Mrs. Davis graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1954.
Beryl Davis was a Christian and member of Belle Fountain Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher for 52 years. She served as Women’s Missionary Director for several years, Church Training Director, Vacation Bible School Director and teacher for many years. She served in the Church Choir and many church committees.
Mrs. Davis belonged to the Fontainebleau Home Makers Club for 25 years. She was a State All Star 4-H Member and a 4-H leader for 4 years.
She was also an honorary member of the Gulf Coast Orchid Society and a member of that organization for over 30 years, in which Mrs. Davis enjoyed growing and sharing her orchids.
After serving as the first-female rural letter carrier at the Ocean Springs Post Office, she founded, owned and operated “Davis Flowers”, a family business for more than 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Betra Fountain and Bertha Mae Noble Fountain and brother Henry Joseph Fountain Sr.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 65 years Charles Duane “Duke” Davis Sr. and three sons Charles Duane Davis Jr. (Muriel) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi Mark Howard Davis of Oxford, and Joseph Keith Davis (Selina) of Lucedale.
She is also survived by seven grandsons Allen Davis (Vanessa) of Ocean Springs, Dean Davis of Midland, Texas, Charlie Davis of New Orleans, Louisiana, Cary Joe Davis of Orlando, Florida, Jackson Davis of Spokane, Washington, Logan Davis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Corin Davis of Mississippi State, Matthew Sturgill of Ocean Springs, granddaughter Carmon Baxter (Michael) of Mobile, Alabama, and two great granddaughters Kyra Mae Davis and Phoebe Fuentes of Ocean Springs.
In addition, she is survived by twin brother Feryl “Pete” Fountain (Freda) of Wiggins, Mississippi and two sisters Dorothy Catchot of Ocean Springs and Mary Martin of Gautier.
Visitation will be conducted at Belle Fountain Baptist Church, 7900 Fontainebleau Rd, Ocean Springs, MS 39564 on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service to immediately follow. A livestream will be available at the time of service on Belle Fountain Baptist Church’s Facebook page. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 4111 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
