Betty Jane Miller Barrett, age 90, was born in West Point, New York May 16, 1925, to General Maurice and Nola Miller. She attended Agnes Scott College and received her degree from Cornell University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Frederick E. Barrett. Fred and Betty were an inseparable team who loved to travel. They were active members of First United Methodist Church and the Biloxi Elks Association, and volunteers for the Red Cross at Keesler Medical Center.
Fred and Betty retired on the Mississippi Gulf Coast until Hurricane Katrina relocated them back to Texas to spend their final years with family in Sugarland.
Betty joined her beloved husband and her LORD peacefully on May 21, 2015. She is loved and survived by her daughter, Janie O’Keefe (deceased husband, James) of Gulfport; her son, Rick Barrett and his wife, Ruth of Sugarland, Texas; 6 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Rd, Biloxi on Thursday, May 28, 2015 for a service at 12:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 11:30 until service. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
