Betty Jo Fountain

Betty Jo Fountain of D’Iberville was born on November 14th, 1935 in Bogue Chitto, MS. In 1951, she married Arlen T, Fountain Sr. She loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Pokeno. Betty Jo spent 15 years as the manager of Raini’s Tropical Sno and was known as “Snowball Grandma”. She was a member of the D’Iberville Community Club and served as Queen of the Carnival Ball with her son as King. Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville. Betty Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Arlen T Fountain Sr; two great grandchildren, Senphonie Carswell and Arlen Johnson; and her parents, Viola and Thomas Chandler. She is survived by one son, Arlen T Fountain Jr. (Ginger); three daughters, Cindy Galle (Weldon Sr), Arlene Johnson (Ron) and Darlene Moran (John Roy Sr); a beloved sister, LaVeta Ott; 15 grandchildren, Raini Smith (Justin), Shannon Martin (Jeff), Tina Beasley (Brian), Weldon Galle Jr., Stephen Johnson (Emily), Kerri Hunt (Riley), Kevin Johnson, John Roy Moran Jr, Brandi DeSandro (Michael), Darlia Roberts, Casey Scott (Derek), Kemberly Groue (Gerald), Courtney Jinright (Jerrod), Shane Moran (Jessica) and Emelta Liptrot; 36 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her special care giver, Carol Redmond, whom she loved dearly. A prayer service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one-hour prior. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
