Betty Jane Waltman Mathieu

Gone Fishing, Mrs. Betty "Jane" Waltman Mathieu, age 79, of Fountainebleau, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Mathieu was a lifelong resident of Fountainebleau. She was preceded in death her husbands, John Neil Gildea and Jerome William Mathieu and children, Eugene Gildea, Terry "Sam" Gildea and Jeane Hovis. Survivors include five daughters, Rose Garvey, Brenda Patrick, Annie (George) Ryan, Theresa (James) Blair and Gloria (Kevin) Amacker, three sons, Mike (Connie) Gildea, Joseph "Moody" (Dawn) Gildea and Daniel mathieu, two brothers, Buck Waltman and Louis Waltman, fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. There are many others that called her "Momma Jane." Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, from 5 pm until 8 pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, there will be an 11 am chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the American Cancer Socity, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS., 39507.
