Betty Jean LaRose

Betty Jean McDaniels LaRose, 75, passed away on November 11, 2005 in Biloxi, MS. Born September 13, 1930 in St. Louis, MO Betty's dancing talent landed her a job at the Grand Theater in her hometown, where she became head chorus girl in the early 1950's. Her showbiz career included a stint as a Rockette, and she was known to hobnob with celebrities such as Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Betty left this glamorous life for a starring role as a wife and mother. She ran her household like a precicion kick-line, and raised two beloved daughters. In the 1970's, Betty became certified as a medical technician and took great pride in the meticulous care she provided patients in nursing homes in Ste. Genevieve and Columbia, MO. She worked as a CMT until she retired at age 73. Betty loved traveling throughout Europe with her daughters. She was a voracious reader and film buff. All her life she took a keen intrest in popular culture, and as an active and steadfast Democrat, in politics. She also adored her many pets. Betty is survived by daughters, Sharon and her husband Jule, and Adria and her husband Ed; grandchildren, Colin, Byron, Genna, Spring and Summer and former husband, Adrian. She is sorely missed by all. Services will be Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 10:00am at the Marion Chapel of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Biloxi In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in her name to the Humane Society of the United States.
