Betty Lou Lassiter Sample

Betty Lou Lassiter Sample, 81, of Gulfport, MS passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Lucedale, MS. Mrs. Sample was born in Bay Minette, AL on November 20, 1935 to Curtis and Myrtle Lorene Fain Lassiter. She formerly worked in real estate. Mrs. Sample enjoyed quilting, reading, painting and her dogs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Sample; her children, Duane E. Sample and Ronald and Donald Sample; her grandson, Jason Guthrie; and her brother, James E. Lassiter. Mrs. Sample’s survivors include her children, James V. (Jerri) Lassiter, Donna (Mike) Guthrie and Diane (John) Dixon; her grandchildren, Sandra Witt, Bobby Darty, Randy Darty, Sherri Dubois, Jeremy Dixon, Zachary Dixon, Tristan Guthrie, Jerrica Dunaway, Duane Sample and Hayleigh Sample; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and her pets, Nikki and Patches. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm followed by a brief time of reflection and prayer at 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road Gulfport.
