Betty M. Price, 93, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Price was born in Murphysboro, IL and was a longtime resident of Biloxi. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a former member of the Keesler Officer’s Club. Mrs. Price served as a W.A.V.E. in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was also former Vice President of the Gulfport Navy CBC Federal Credit Union. Mrs. Price retired from KAFB in the Department of Civilian Personnel as the Chief of Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity Program.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Franklin Held and Weber W. Price; her son, Michael Franklin Held; and her parents, Edward and Helen Murphy.
Mrs. Price’s survivors include her son, Stephen (Gigi) Held of Georgetown, TX; her daughter-in-law, Dyane Held of Ocean Springs; her sister, Elizabeth Florio of Oshkosh, WI; her grandchildren, Michael F. (Katie) Held, Jr., Lauren Held (Jay) Smith and Shae (Brett) Vaughn; her great-grandchildren, Avery, Michael, Charlie, Miles, Mollie, Emma and Jewel; and her longtime close friend, Edie Polovich of Biloxi.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:15 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
