Betty Ruth Hebert

Betty Hebert was welcomed home by the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the age of 75. She was born on March 8, 1933 to the union of Wilson and Ruth Thibodeaux. Throughout her journey, she has demonstrated true joy and a grateful heart for the many blessings in her life, often pronouncing that she was the luckiest woman in the world, and that she had the greatest husband, family, and friends. Betty had the capacity to find the good in each and every person that had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She loved all people, and only spoke with gentle and kind words about everyone. Betty exemplified what it meant to be a true Christian. In her lifetime she had experienced many miracles as she battled thirty years of debilitation, but never complained nor considered herself disabled. Betty’s mind was sharp, she enjoyed playing games, especially cards and she delighted in the time she spent sitting out on the porch drinking her coffee visiting with family and friends. She will be terribly missed by her adoring family, and friends who consider themselves to have been the luckiest people in the world for having shared in the life of such a remarkable woman. Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 46 years Ray Herbert, 4 children; Diane Hotard and her husband Jun, Darrell Hickey, Danny Hickey and his wife Arlene, Debi McClellan and her husband Chuck, 7 grandchildren; Cassie Anslem, Tonya Green, Jenny Begnaud, Derick McClellan, Jason Hickey, Dennis Hickey, Acacia McClellan, 13 great grandchildren and counting, 1 great great grandchild, as well as a large extended family and hundreds of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Wilson and Ruth Thibodeaux, 1 brother; Terry Thibodeaux, and 2 sisters; Tootsie Lassere, and Elizabeth Thibodeaux. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM both will be held at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Ave., Biloxi. Interment will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.
