Billie Joe Goodwin

Billie Joe Goodwin, 72, of Saucier died Friday, February 25, 2011 in Gulfport. Mr. Goodwin had been a resident of Saucier for 16 years. He proudly served his country and retired as a TSGT from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Mr. Goodwin also retired from civil service after 10 years. He was a proud member of the VFW and AMVETS.Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Flossie Yvonne Goodwin; his mother Sarah Posey Lane; a sister Virgie May Ham and two brothers Jack Goodwin and Felix David Johnson.He is survived by his father Homer Goodwin of McMillian, OK; three sons, Vincent (Ellen) Goodwin of Herlong, CA, Billy D. Goodwin and Michael J. Goodwin both of Ocean Springs; three grand-daughters, Stephanie Lynn Goodwin, Brittanie Ann Goodwin, and Brianna Marie Goodwin; and a sister, Nora Lee Contreras of Santa Rosa, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the V.F.W. or AM VETS. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on O’Neal Road in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
