Dale Cannon

Billye Dale (Ward) Cannon, 84, formerly of Clinton, MS, and a native of Louisville, MS, passed away on March 11, 2025, in Ocean Springs, MS.

Born on August 31, 1940, to Robert and Maude Ward, Dale was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful Catholic who cherished good company and had a remarkable talent for cooking. Her Sunday family dinners, Thanksgiving spreads, and Christmas feasts were legendary and brought joy to many. Dale dedicated her professional life to the Mississippi LP Gas Dealers Association and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James B. Cannon; her parents; and her older siblings, James (Jim) Ellis Ward and Bobbye Nell Lee.

She is survived by her two children, Angela and Richard (Dorothy); two grandchildren whom she cherished, Brooke Allen (Erek) and Lauren Boler (Baker); and three great-grandchildren, Margot Boler, Ford Boler, and Quinn Allen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Clinton, MS, on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd in Jackson, MS.
