Bobby Lee Dawkins

Bobby Lee Dawkins, age 85, currently of Mobile, AL. formerly a longtime resident of Ocean Springs, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, in Mobile. Mr. Dawkins was born on February 1, 1925, in Salem, Alabama to Walter Scott and Carrie Mae Dawkins. He retired from Georgia Power Company with 42 years of service. Mr. Dawkins was also a Master Mason and member of the Joppa Shrine. He was a avid gardner and loved flowers, was a loving and faithful husband, a giving father, and a man of his word. He touched many lives with his "happy" personality. In 2007, Mr. Dawkins moved to Mobile; but, his heart remained in Ocean Springs. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley E. Dawkins; daughter, Kay Dawkins-Carvin; son-in-law, Joseph R. Carvin, Jr.; two nieces; two nephews, and two extended loved ones, Karen Carvin Ledkins and Raymond Daniel Ledkins. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
