Brenda Lee Anderson Walker, 51, of Long Beach died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in Gulfport. Mrs. Walker was born in Hattiesburg, MS and had been a resident of Long Beach since 1977. She was a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Jones County Junior College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. Upon graduation, Brenda taught children with learning disabilities at Harrison County Training School for Exceptional Children, at Bel-Aire Middle School, North Gulfport Middle School, and Harper McCaughan Elementary. She retired to become a full time mother. She was a member of Long Beach Church of Christ, where she used her teaching skills in church work and she enjoyed volunteering as a teacher and counselor at Gulf Coast Bible Camp, outside of Lucedale, where her three children were baptized. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank M. Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Fred Walker of Long Beach; two daughters, Laurel Walker and Molly Walker, both of Long Beach; a son, Britt Walker of Long Beach; a sister, Maria Blankenship of Brandon ; a brother, David Anderson of Clinton; and her mother, Dolores Anderson of Long Beach. The visitation will be Friday evening, March 17, 2006 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Long Beach where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
