Brenda Joyce Mayhew “Granny”, 77, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
She was born on March 21, 1947 in Bessmer, AL to parents, Ray E. Cooley and Mattie Lue Cooley. She graduated from Protage High School. She loved fishing, going to church, doing arts and crafts, going to festivals, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of New Zeal Missionary Baptist Church in Saltillo, TN. She loved everyone she came in contact with.
Mrs. Mayhew was preceded in death by her mother, father and one brother and sister and her beloved husband, Virgil R. Mayhew.
She is survived by her children, Scott A. Mayhew, William “Eddie” Mayhew, Elsi M. Berryman, Virginia A. Mears and Joylee M. Mayhew; granddaughters, Kayla M. McIntyre, Robin E. Berryman, Gracie R. Berryman; grandsons, Derik Berryman, Robert “Pete” Mayhew, DeEvans J. Mears, Benjamin R. Mayhew and Spencer M. Young; great-grandchildren Mackenzie A. McIntyre, Kailyn Chandler, Jacob R. McIntyre, Kyson L. Berryman, and Collyn R. Young; one brother, Roy E. Cooley; and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
