Brett Wayne Webber

January 14, 1967 — April 2, 2025

Gulfport

Brett Wayne Webber, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 58 years old.

Born on January 14, 1967, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Brett was the son of Diane Webber and the late Wayne W. Webber.

He is survived by his daughter, BriAnna M. Webber; his mother, Diane Webber & companion Ron Bush; his brother, Mark W. Webber, and sister-in-law, Debbie, along with their daughters, Julia and Keira; and his sister, Paige Webber Garrigan, and brother-in-law, John Garrigan, along with their daughters, Ayla and Lily. Last but not least, his dogs, Loni and Lola, were also beloved members of his family.

Brett graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Business, which he applied across a range of careers — from working in casinos along the Gulf Coast to owning a local store that became a gathering place for regulars who mostly came because it was Brett’s Place.

Brett’s life was rich with enthusiasm and a joy for the simple things. He was a man of passion and curiosity, known for his love of Michael Jordan and for combing the Gulf Coast in search of driftwood, antique bottles, and hidden treasures. These were not just hobbies, but reflection of his adventurous spirit and appreciation for the unique and timeless. Above all, his greatest joy and most profound love was reserved for his daughter, BriAnna. She was the light of his life, and everything he did, he did with her in mind.

A natural athlete with that "Webber competitive spirit", Brett made his mark in the Deep South on the fields, catching the game-winning pass in overtime at the 1991 National Flag Football Championship in New Orleans, and also on the courts, landing his three-point shots before it was officially adopted.

Brett will be remembered for his enthusiasm and positive nature, meticulous disposition, and passion for all he did — and above all, for the deep love he had for his family and friends. His legacy lives on through those who were lucky enough to share in his warmth, wit, and wholehearted approach to life.

A service celebrating Brett’s life will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS, on Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life gathering from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
