Mr. Bruce Brannon Rogers, 89, of Long Beach, MS, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Mr. Rogers was born in Thomas County, Georgia and moved to Greenville, MS in 1956 after his retirement as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he joined the State of MS as manager of the MS Employment Security Commission office in Greenville. In 1977, he transferred with the Commission to the Biloxi office and began serving as an Appeals Referee. He retired from the MS Employment Security Commission in 1984. Mr. Rogers was a 33rd degree Mason at the Masonic Lodge of Greenville. He was also a former president of the MS Exchange Club. His greatest achievement was as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Louise Rogers and his son Bruce James “Jamie” Rogers. He is survived by his daughter and primary caregiver, Kathleen Ann Rogers of Long Beach. He also is survived by three grandchildren: Wesley Stewart Rogers of Gulfport; Amy Rogers Botros and husband Adeeb of Gulfport; and Daniel James Rogers and wife Michele of California; and their mother (daughter-in-law) Cindy Rogers Miller and husband Frank Miller of Bay St. Louis. He had one great grandchild, Aiden Adeeb Botros. The funeral service is Monday, January 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until the service.
