A lifelong student of history, literature, art, music, science and philosophy has left this world a richer place by blessing all those who knew him with his wit and wisdom. Bryan Paul Rosetti, 61, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Bryan was a native of Biloxi and a 1980 graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School. He graduated from William Carey University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. He previously worked for many years at Mississippi Power Company’s general office.
Bryan grew up in a place he dearly loved, the old Back Bay neighborhood off Caillavet Street and Bayview Avenue, surrounded by family. He fondly recalled riding his bike along the Biloxi Bay and doing all the things Biloxi boys grow up doing. He attended Gorenflo Elementary School where he learned to play field hockey. He then attended Notre Dame Catholic High School from seventh through twelfth grades and lettered in academics. He won many awards while at Notre Dame but the one he was most proud of was the senior class business award in 1980. His love for technology drew him toward an education in computer science and a career as a systems analyst and programmer.
Bryan met his high school sweetheart while they were both students at Notre Dame and Sacred Heart at a football game in the old Biloxi Stadium on Lee Street. That puppy-love turned out the be the real thing and Bryan married Laurie Quave Rosetti on June 28, 1986 and spent the next 38 years making her laugh and being the best husband and father to their two sons: Bryan Rosetti, Jr. and Dylan Rosetti.
Bryan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anthony J. and Margaret Puzz Rosetti; and by siblings Anthony J. Rosetti, Jr. and Jeanie Rosetti. He was also preceded by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Beverly Quave.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie Quave Rosetti; sons, Bryan Rosetti, Jr. and Dylan Rosetti; siblings, Linda Rosetti Lawrence (Frances) and Gary Rosetti (Elizabeth); brother-in-law, Mayor Rusty Quave (Sue); and sisters-in-law, Mary Dell Rosetti and Sister Cheryl Quave. He is also survived by a very special niece, Linda Lawrence Cagnolatti (Guy). He leaves numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces to keep his memory.
Bryan fought a 20-year battle with multiple sclerosis which took his ability to work, to walk and ultimately to converse. What MS could never take was his heart, courage, and his faith. He will be remembered for his love of family, friends, life and the great works of literature.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Blessed Seelos Catholic Church. Friends are invited to visit from 10 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family Bryan P. Rosetti.
