Bura “B.C.” Kelly, age 88, of Loudon, TN passed away at River Oaks Assisted Living on December 8, 2015. B.C. was born in Stringer, MS, moved to Gulfport, MS in 1963. B.C. served in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War Time. B.C. was an electrician and proud member of IBEW Local # 903 for 42 years before surrendering to the ministry pastoring in several Mississippi Baptist Churches from Wiggins, MS to Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Susie Clark Kelly along with his brothers, Clyde, John, Dewey, William “Pete” and sisters, Troye Childers and Betty Moss
He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (George) Towne of Knoxville, TN, Catherine (Mark) Bowen of Clayton, NC, and Donna Minor of Etters, PA; grandchildren, John Powell, Nathan Powell, Brent Powell, Kelly Rae Tyler, Kristian Smith, Kasie Cannon, Bridgette Lee, Breanna Bowen and Aaron Bowen; sisters, Floy Graham of Laurel and Lois Murphy of Bay Springs; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bipinchandra Patel, Lisa Harvey and all the staff at River Oaks Assisted Living along with Caris Hospice for their loving, compassionate and professional care.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 9:00a.m. – 10:00a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Stringer, MS at 12 noon with military honors at the cemetery by the U.S. Army.
