Cameil L. Taylor, Jr., 87, of St. Martin, died on Friday, December 23, 2011 in Ocean Springs.
He was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran who served during WWII. He was a retired machinist from Ingall’s Shipbuilding and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed repairing all types of motors and was known for “fixing” outboard boat motors that no one else could.
He is preceded in death by his mother and step father, Kate and Luther Boone; his father, Cameil L. Taylor Sr.; sister, Mary Boone and his son, Cameil L. Taylor III.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna Taylor; three daughters, Mary L. Lowe (Michael), Katherine Taylor and Amelia Taylor; two sons, Mark L. Taylor, and Stephen John Taylor (Sandy); a sister Juanita Young; three grandchildren, Stefanie Seay (Brian), John W. Taylor, Taylor M. Lowe; four great grandchildren, Blythe Seay, Donovan Seay, Ezra Seay and Fallon Seay.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. Friends may visit at church from 11:00 a.m. until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
