Mr. Camille J. Foret, 85, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Friday, October 19, 2007, in Biloxi.
Mr. Foret, a native of Thibodaux, LA, had been a longtime resident of the coast. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II and owner/operator of Foret's Grocery and Crawfish House. He was well known as "The Crawfish King of Biloxi" as he introduced crawfish to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1963. He was a member of the Biloxi Businessmen's Club and of the Catholic faith. He worked 14 years for Bellande Beverage Co. He was a fan of L.S.U. and the Saints and enjoyed watching football and gardening. He was a great cook.
Mr. Foret was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise and Eugenie Foret, and grandson, Rodney Seymour.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Carroll Ibele of D'Iberville, and Charlotte and Wyatt Price of Ocean Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Becky Foret of Biloxi; sisters, Marie D'Antonie and Earline Dunne of New Orleans, LA; eight grandchildren, Charlie Ibele, Glenn Ibele, Laurie Shivers, Christopher Foret, Cherie Gerlits, Layne Price, Stephanie Seymour and Wade Price, and thirteen great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 22, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
