Mr. Carey Francis Quave, age 81, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Sunday, June 11, 2006, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Quave was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. He was the longtime owner and operator of Quaves 5 Points service station in D'Iberville. He was also a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was named after one of the founding Pastors, Father Patrick Carey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ruth Wall Quave, his parents, Peter E. Quave and Catherine "Katie" Starks Quave, three sisters, Mamie V. Gill, Ida M. Gollott and Gertrude Hungerford, a brother, Wallace P. Quave, and a grandson, William J. "Billy" Bounds.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Bounds Starbuck and husband, Ronald, of Fort Walton Beach, FL., and Charlotte Bounds Wheat Giammerse and husband, Marion, of Picayune, MS., two sons, Martin R. Bounds, and wife, Etelia of Lafayette, LA., and Bobby Joe Bounds and wife, Debra, of Biloxi, MS., thirteen grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, from 11 AM - 1 PM, with a 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial, all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Quave-Seymour Cemetery.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
