Carl Edward Keel, 80, of Pass Christian, MS died Friday, February 4th, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born in Pass Christian, Mississippi and has been a resident of Pass Christian for 80 years. Mr. Keel was completely devoted to his family, his faith, the community and friends; and adored by all. Mr. Keel was a community leader. He established Little League baseball in Pass Christian. He and Mrs. Keel established Keel’s Skate-A-Rama for their children and the community. Mr. Keel was known as an “avid” fisherman and boat builder on the Gulf Coast. Mr. Keel was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Mit” Keel, and his parents, Alden and Hazel Keel. He is survived by his brother Lionel M. Keel and his family: Mr. Keel's children – two daughters, Kim Keel and Kay Keel Hilbun and husband Bennie Hilbun, all of Pass Christian; four sons, Mike Keel and wife, Cathy; Randy Keel and wife Lisa of Diamondhead; Marty Keel, also of Pass Christian and Matt Keel and wife, Karen, of Slidell, Louisiana. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mr. Keel was a member of Long Beach Congregation of Jehovah Christian Witnesses’. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held on Saturday, February 12th, 2011 at 2:00 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport, Ms. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. View and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com
