Carl John Sentell, Jr. “Bubba” age 67 of Biloxi passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
He was a lifetime resident of the Gulf Coast and went to St. Martin high school. After high school, Bubba took his love of cooking and became a chef. He began his career as a merchant marine, cooking for crews working offshore on tugboats. He later came back to the Coast and was a chef at the Grand Casino in Gulfport. Bubba then went to work for a family-owned restaurant in D’Iberville called The Dinner Bell until Hurricane Katrina. After Katrina, he returned to working offshore until he medically retired.
Bubba was a loving brother and uncle who adored and was adored by all of his nieces and nephews. He was a generous and kind soul who brought joy to all who met him. He was fun loving and always up for a good time. Bubba enjoyed spending the holidays and vacationing with friends and family. He especially enjoyed his time spent camping in the woods. He also took great joy in sharing his love of cooking by teaching recipes and tricks in the kitchen to anyone who wanted to learn. He loved to play bingo and his slot machine games on the computer. He will be greatly missed by all of those he left behind.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, Carl John, Sr. and Lucille Fayard Sentell; sisters, Deborah “Debby” Touchet and Jennifer “Cissy” Chinn; and his great nephew, Kristian Michael Hesler.
He is survived by his sister, Bridgette (Kenneth, Sr.) Hesler; goddaughter, Holli (John T Hodnet) Hesler; niece, Amanda (Jason) Moran; nephews, Cliff Chinn, Michael (Kimberly) Touchet, Kenneth (Crysti) Hesler, Jr., Jeffrey Touchet, and Kameron (Katie) Hesler; 10 great nieces and 7 great nephews. He is also survived by his best friends, Gwen Ronquillo, Jo Fontenot, and Barbara Taranto.
The family is having a private service.
