Carla M. Steptoe

Carla M. Steptoe, age 52, died of cancer, Thursday, April 7, 2005, at her home in Ocean Springs, MS. Carla was a longtime resident of the coast. She was a Neo-Natal nurse Practitioner (NNP), Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI), and a certified Holistic Nurse with a loving passion for helping premature and sick babies. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Price of NC. Carla is survived by a daughter, Emree Steptoe and a son, Gabriel Steptoe, both of Mississippi, her mother and step-father, Alice and Worth Shuman of NC, brothers, Jack Jackson of NC, and Dusty Shuman of GA, sister, Linda Zachary of VA., and her loving soulmate of 14 years, Malcolm Deas of MS. A 1:00 P.M. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs followed by a reception/party (she planned it herself) to be held at her home and hosted by her children.
