Mrs. Carol Annette Jones Riviere, 68, died Friday, October 19, 2012 in Gulfport. She was born in Kosciusko, MS on May 22, 1944. She was a 20 year resident of Gulfport. Mrs. Riviere was a member of Family Worship Center.
Mrs. Riviere was preceded in death by her parents William and Delores Street Jones; son, Rodney Riviere Jr.; daughter, Cheryl Perry and 2 brothers, Ronald Douglas Jones and William Earl Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Welborn (David Stevens) of Gulfport; sons, Michael Riviere (Ramona) of Humble, Texas; David Keith Riviere of Destrehan, LA; sister, Cynthia J. Wing (Chris) of Gulfport; brothers Knovis Jones (Barbara) of St. Rose, LA; Steven Jones and Joseph Jones (Sharon) both of Gulfport. Additionally, she is survived by her seven grandchildren, Erica, Jessica, Lindsay, Jordyn, Lexie, Amanda, Sean and three great-grandchildren, Dominic, Addison, and Ryder.
Carol was cared for in both her best days and during her time of need by her sister in law, Sharon Jones and her daughter, Debra Welborn. In these women, Carol found comfort, peace and love. Both Sharon and Debra loved Carol selfishly and eternally. We are all grateful for the time they pledged to Carol for her care and companionship.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 5 pm until 8 pm at the 15th Street Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Service will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11am at Family Worship Center on 7th Avenue in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before the service. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
