Carol Ann Thompson, loving wife of Peter D. Thompson, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 25, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends.
Carol was born in Nebraska City, NE and began her education in a one room school house. Immediately following high school, she joined the United States Air Force. During her service she was stationed at AFROTC, USC; Elmendorf AFB, AK; Keelser AFB, MS; Korat Thailand; and NORAD, CO.
Following her service in the Air Force, she worked as a civilian employee, with the Hurricane Hunters at Keesler AFB. After earning an Associates Degree at the University of South Alabama, she worked for the National Finance Center in New Orleans, LA, where she retired in 2003.
Carol touched the lives of everyone she met. Her generous spirit and kind heart were the pillars of the life she lived. She was always smiling and ready with a funny story that was certain to brighten your day.
Carol was an avid quilter, embroiderer, seamstress, cook and golfer. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, grandchildren and beloved pet Snuggles.
Carol will be deeply missed by her son and daughter in law Gordon and Lori Thompson, two grandsons Rohan and Sawyer, Goddaughter Amber Markey and her husband Thomas, life long friends Giff and Terri Ormes, brother Melvin (Paula), brother Kenny (Cathy), sister Doree (David), sister Mary Lee, sister in law Ellen, and friends too numerous to count.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Hospice of Light.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Ave., Ocean Springs, MS on Saturday May 3, 2014 from 10:30-12:00. A memorial service will follow at 12:00.
