Ms. Catherine Lipscomb Biggs, age 50, of Ocean Springs, MS., died peacefully at home surrounded by family and dear friends after a courageous battle against cancer.
Ms. Biggs was born on May 18, 1961, in Baton Rouge, LA. and was a native of Slidell, LA. and New Orleans, LA. She was living in Ocean Springs, MS at the time of her passing. Upon receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Loyola University of New Orleans, Catherine started her teaching career in Atlanta, GA where she began her family. She subsequently moved to the Gulf Coast area where she continued her teaching until Hurricane Katrina at which point she opened her store Flying Wild in Ocean Springs, MS. The last two years, Catherine dedicated herself to the Gulf Coast Women’s Center for Nonviolence.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Hamilton Trepagnier.
Ms. Biggs was a loving and devoted mother to her two daughters, Emilie Catherine Biggs and Meghan Hamilton Biggs. Survivors also include her father, W.L. "Roy" Lipscomb, brother and sister, Roy C. Lipscomb and Lauren K. Lipscomb and aunts, Virginia Trepagnier McManus and Kate Harris Trepagnier.
On Saturday, May 28, 2011, there will be an 11 AM Church Service at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church of Long Beach, 310 North Cleveland Avenue, Long Beach, MS. A Celebration of Life will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family extends a debt of gratitude to Catherine's Aunt Virginia for her tireless devotion to Catherine in her time of need.
