Catherine Cecile DiSalvo

Mrs. Catherine Cecile Florek "Kit" DiSalvo, a dedicated wife, caring mother, and beloved friend to many, peacefully passed away with her daughter by her side on June 16, 2024, in Gulfport, Mississippi at the age of 96. She was born on August 8, 1927, in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Louis Anthony DiSalvo Sr.; and her son, Louis Anthony “Butch” DiSalvo Jr.

She is survived by her son, John K. DiSalvo (Leigh) of Birmingham, AL; and three daughters, Ms. Patricia Lesher of Gulfport, MS, Mrs. Katherine "KC" Bates (Larry) of Long Beach, MS, and Ms. Susan DiSalvo of Gulfport, MS. Kit is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Kit was a devoted Catholic and a longtime member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport, MS. She also had a passion for reading, sewing, and cooking. She found the most joy in cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren. She found pleasure in reading and engaging in book discussions with others. Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their care in her final year. A private family funeral will be held at a later date.
