Catherine "D'Voe" McCaleb

Catherine "D’Voe" McCaleb, born February 11, 1924 passed away April 21, 2022 at the age of 98.  She was born to Warren and Rosa Mae Shows in Jackson, MS. Her family moved to the coast at the age of 16 where she lived for the remainder of her life.  She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi for almost 70 years. She was an expert seamstress and crafter that made beautiful blankets which were treasured gifts. She also made items to be donated to many charitable organizations. Her lemon pies were legendary. D’Voe never met a stranger and was cherished by her many friends. She was a wonderful wife and mother and even better grandmother. Above all, she loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings and her dear husband Arthur “Sonny” McCaleb. 

Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Judy Wells of Biloxi, Rosemary Wild of Gulfport, and James Miley (DeVera) of Murfreesboro, TN; her 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends. 

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe on Howard Ave, Biloxi. Visitation will begin at 11 am, followed. Service will be at 12 noon.  Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
