Cathy Ann Huntsman

Cathy Ann (Penny) Huntsman died on July 25, 2007 at the Stone County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wiggins, MS after a lengthy illness. She was 55 years of age. Her life began on November 10, 1951 at the Biloxi Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi as the oldest daughter to proud parents Paul (deceased) and Mildred Penny. She gained two twin brothers Damon and Ramon when she was 5 years old. Cathy's childhood and school years were spent in the Biloxi school system where she graduated in 1969. She began college life at the University of Southern Mississippi until her marriage to Marvin T. (Tommy) Huntsman in 1970. Marriage and family took her to Warner Robins, GA, Mobile, AL, Frankfurt, Germany, Memphis, TN, an extended stay of 18 years in Slidell, LA and finally to the kind and caring folks of Wiggins, MS. During these travels the marriage was blessed with a healthy son, Sean, and beautiful daughter, Erin. While much of her life was devoted to family, she branched into a variety of career opportunities with her favorite as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. Cathy had a number of interests beyond her children. Sewing, reading and TV soap operas were especially appealing to her. She was an active game player, enjoying both cards and computers. As a sports enthusiast, Cathy was an avid New Orleans Saints and USM Golden Eagle fan. Music was also one of her loves and may have started with her choral activities in high school as a member of the Biloxians and later with her church choir. Cathy was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Slidell, LA. She leaves a loving husband of nearly 37 years (Tommy); a son, his wife and grandson (Sean, Dana and Elijah) of Austin, TX; a daughter (Erin) of Baton Rouge, LA; a mother (Mildred), brother (Ramon), and brother (Damon) with sister-in-law and nephews (Jackie, Bryce and Britt) of Biloxi; and in-laws (Marvin and Ruby Huntsman) of Dearborn, MO. Cathy was a Christian and was devoted to her faith and family. She will be greatly missed! A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Pass Road, Biloxi, MS at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pastor Todd Smith of Trinity Presbyterian Church will be presiding.
