Celeste Boudreaux Hewes, 82, of Gulfport, MS passed away February 6, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born in Beaumont, TX, on August 19, 1934. Celeste was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Edith Boudreaux, and her brother, Ross Boudreaux.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Thomas Searle Hewes, Jr, 1 sister Ann (Ray) Mitchell, 3 daughters Cathy (Don) Scarborough, Janet Laine, Michele (Greg) Cooper, 7 grandchildren Thomas Scarborough, Ross (Julia) Scarborough, Mary Catherine Scarborough, Austin Laine, Bryce Laine, Avery Cooper, Adam Cooper and 2 great-grandchildren Brody Cooper and Layla Laine.
Celeste was a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and dedicated much of her time helping others through various ministries at the church as well as volunteering often at Memorial Hospital.
She had many and various interests including antique furniture collecting and refinishing, sewing, needlepoint, fishing and crabbing, and working jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest joys came from being with and doing for her family.
Celeste was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday February 10, at 12:00 noon at St. John Catholic Church, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
