Charlene Metz Tate, age 73, of Pass Christian, died Thursday, August 17, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Tate was born in Iowa Park, Texas and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1974. She was a member of Long Beach Church of Christ and Timber Ridge Ladies Association. Her hobbies included china painting and oil painting which she also taught. She loved to garden, cook, and decorate.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Johnnie D. Tate of Pass Christian; a daughter, Charla Smith of Long Beach; two sons, Steve Tate and his wife, Jodi of Montgomery, TX and John Tate and his wife, Debbie of Kimberly, AL; a sister, Bonnie Medlinger of Iowa Park, TX; and nine grandchidren, Sean, Hope, Rivers, Kellum, Carter, Alexandra, Bria, Calli, and Dakota.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 20, 2006 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The funeral service is Monday, August 21, 2006 at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment following in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi.
