Charles Thomas Anderson

Charles Thomas Anderson, age 81, of Gulfport passed away on July 30, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Lindsey and Carolyn Anderson and a sister, Carol. He is survived by his loving wife, Janis Stanley; his son, Lindsey (Katie) and granddaughters, Kate and Meg, all of Oxford; his daughter, Kristin; grandchildren Thomas and Liza, all of Madison; and his stepson Fortune’ “Bear” Alexander (Annetta) and granddaughter Gabriella, all of Austin, Texas. Tom is also survived by his brothers Lloyd and Joe Anderson of Biloxi and a sister, Audrey Montgomery of Gulfport. Tom graduated from Gulfport High School in the class of 1955. He received a B.S. Commerce degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law In 1963. He was a member of Kappa Alpha and Phi Alpha Delta, a legal fraternity. He was commissioned by the United States Army and served as a Lieutenant in the Mississippi National Guard. Having practiced law for over fifty years, he retired and closed his firm in Ocean Springs. He was a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club, Great Southern Golf Club, and The Old Pass Christian Investment Club. Tom was an avid fan of golf having played for many years and of football, especially his beloved Ole Miss Rebels. The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice, especially Mary, Felicia, and Beverly, and Kare-in-Home, especially Louise and Steve. The family requests memorial donations to Trinity United Methodist Church, 5007 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507. Services will be held Saturday, August 4, at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment follows at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
