Charles Cleon Blackledge, age 93, of Gulfport, MS passed away at his home on November 26, 2023.
Cleon was born on October 30, 1930 in Jones County, MS. After graduation from high school, he served four years of active duty in the US Navy before becoming a licensed electrician. He was an active mason and always a dedicated Husband, Father and Grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. Blackledge and Annie Mae Blackledge Quinnelly; his wife of more than seventy years, Betty Blackledge; two daughters Dianne Miller and Marsha Sellier; two brothers, James Vestal Blackledge, Thomas Rayford Blackledge; two sisters, Norma Blackledge Harbour and Anita Blackledge Cleckler.
Cleon is survived by his sisters, Shirley Blackledge McKnight and Patricia Blackledge Gaines (Stanley) and sister-in-law Margaret Blackledge. His closest surviving relatives include a Grandson, Charles Miller and wife Diane of Palacios, TX as well as a Granddaughter, Amy Miller Moore and husband Clay Moore and three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren of Vancleave, MS. Cleon was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews including Jeff Harbour (Janet), who was his frequent companion.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
