Charles grew up on" the Point" where nick names come with the territory. One day while playing little league baseball, 7 year old Charles hit the ball, started running around the bases and someone said, "Charles has legs like a Canary." Ever since then, the name stuck and he was known as "Canary."
"Canary" was a fun loving man who never met a stranger. He had a witty personality and a wonderful sense of humor. Adored by many, he was often seen cutting a rug on the dance floor, always having a good time. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Steve Black and Stanley Greenway of Home Instead for compassion, dedication and patience during his time of illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nativity Cathedral Stained Glass window restoration fund.
