Charles Wade Cranshaw, 73 , formerly of Gulfport, died Monday, October 24, 2005 in Laurel, MS. Mr. Cranshaw was born in Atlanta, GA, and was a resident of Gulfport since 1955 until 3 years ago, when he moved to the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967 as a MSgt after over 20 years of service. Following retirement he was an industrial engineer. Mr. Cranshaw was Methodist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Verna Cranshaw. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Frances Gail Megason, Assistant Chief of Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation at University of MS Medical School, Jackson, MS; a step-son, Dr. William D. Owen, Chief of Safe Harbor Geriatric Psychiatry, Richton, MS; a granddaughter, Candace Jones of Caledonia, MS; and a great-grandson, Jackson Owen Jones. There will be a graveside service Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
