Charles Douglas Hitt Jr.

Mr. Charles Douglas "Dougie" Hitt, Jr. left this world on May 8, 2006 to dance with the angels and fish with his friends. Dougie was born December 9, 1975 in Biloxi, he was graduate of St. Martin High School in 1994, where he excelled in football and baseball. He continued his baseball career at Faulkner State Community College in Al., Delta State University and William Carey College. He also attended college at the University of Southern MS. in Hattiesburg, MS. He was currently employed with Kirby Inland Marine in LA. Along with sports, Dougie enjoyed fishing, hunting and living life to its fullest. He was a member of the Blueberry Hill Hunting Club. He was a strong good hearted man and held his head high and was proud of who he was all through his life. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Ella Thomas and Hubert, Sr. and Katie Lee Hitt. Survivors include his parents Charles Douglas "Doug" Sr. and Georgia "Gail" Hitt. He was a big brother to two sisters, Lindsay Hitt and Crystal Hitt Daughtery, her husband James Daughtery III and two nieces Erin and Bryn Daughtery all of the Latimer community. Survivors also include many, many aunts, uncles, cousin and life long friends. Dougie was a stranger to few and he was a joy to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and remembered for his out-going smile and his strong love for life. We love you Dougie and await the day that we can meet you at that big fishing hole in heaven. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 from 5 to 9 P.M. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will follow at the Thomas Family Cemetery in the Latimer Community.
