Charles was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Frank R. Durso and Mildred Durso Atchison.
Charles was a retired construction worker, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and a big supporter of the Ocean Springs Greyhounds and little league baseball. He spent many hours on the ball fields helping the youth of Ocean Springs.
In addition, to his parents, Frank R. Durso and Mildred Durso Atchison, he was also preceded in death by his step father, William F. Atchison and sister, Shirley Kapture.
Charles is survived by his sister, Marie (Wes) Elmendorf; his wife, of 56 years, Dortha; son, Charles (fiancé, Sherilyn); and granddaughter, Allie.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Light for their care of Charles and the love and support shown to the family. Each one of you went above and beyond.
A visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe from 9 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to Hospice of Light or to the charity of their choice in memory of Charles Durso. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family Charles Durso.
